Tinaru Kennels was started in 1992 by Tony Dixon. When He purchased his first Australian Kelpie show dog .He had His first Champion Tinaru Penny Lane at the end of 1994. Penny’s progeny have gone on to successfully promote the Tinaru name in the Show ring and for the breed. Tony had a very successful year in 2001 winning Best of Breed at Melbourne Royal and going on to win Fourth in the Working Dog Group with Aust NZ CH Tinaru Coota Wattle. 2005 saw Ch Tinaru Ginger Meggs win two Best in Shows. In 2006 Ch Tinaru Back to theFuture won Best in Show (All Breeds show). In 2007 at the Sydney Royal Show Ch Star Lass Of Corindell (imp NZ)won Runner up to Best in Group in the Working Dog Group. This has been Tony's best highlight so far.Tinaru Kennels is a small kennel concentrating on improving the breed. Tony has been exporting dogs overseas to a number of countries.
Mystar Kennels started in around 1993 by Margaret Price after she had spent many years in Obedience. She then purchased an Australian Cattle Dog and then entered the showing world. Grd Aust/Nz Ch Mystar Lady Macbeth is the most successful so far with wins overseas and interstate. In 2005 Ch Mystar Fuzzy Bear went Best of Breed at Sydney Royal. Mystar’s main aim is to improve to the breed and reduce genetic problems in the breed by testing for any of these problems. She has also been exporting dogs overseas to a number of countries, and now has two home bred Grand Champions
Tinaru and Mystar are both separate Kennels but both Tony and Margaret show together and help each other with the dogs and their breeding programs.
